Help Your Bradford Air Cadets

Join the Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) and Help Support Your Local Cadets

The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a military-supported and partially funded program that teaches technical skills, along with social and professional development, to our youth—the leaders of tomorrow.

The local SSC is a group of dedicated adult volunteers responsible for arranging space, managing the details of cadet activities, and raising funds for the "extras" not covered by military support. These extras include social and recreational activities, as well as recognition awards. The Fundraising from the SSC also covers costs such as training location and meals during events.

Currently, the SSC is made up of 7 dedicated volunteer individuals who are committed to the growth and success of the 37 Orville Hand Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.

The committee is always looking to attract new members who are committed to supporting youth, willing to work cooperatively in organizing local air cadet activities, and eager to contribute ideas for community fundraising. Understandably, all committee candidates must undergo a police check, reference checks, and an interview.

To learn more and read stories about past activities, visit bradfordaircadets.ca. If you have even a little interest in helping the Bradford Air Cadets, reach out to the local Squadron Sponsoring Committee. We’d be happy to provide more information and help you decide if this could be the perfect opportunity to make a positive impact on youth and your community.

Fundraising

Tag Days

Our Cadets proudly seize the opportunity twice a year to represent 37 Orville Hand Squadron and showcase what the Air Cadet Program is all about through Tag Days fundraising.

During Tag Days, Cadets will wear their uniforms with pride outside local businesses and in public spaces, handing out tags on strings in exchange for donations. These contributions help fund squadron activities that are not covered by government funding—such as trips, equipment, team uniforms, and awards. Tag Days also raise awareness of the squadron and its commitment to the community.

This initiative helps provides the public with a meaningful way to directly support youth development programs. It’s a win-win: cadets gain valuable life skills and leadership experience, while communities invest in their future leaders.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming 2025 Tag Days, happening on April 11th, 12th, and 13th!
